Here at Chinstrap we believe that the best kind of beard is one that is well groomed.

So we’ve put together a simple guide to help you take care of your facial hair. Caring for your beard correctly will keep it in good condition and make it more manageable. Everyone will be jealous of your well groomed chinstrap.

The first stage in the Chinstrap Beard Care Guide is shaving the edges of your beard. So we’re talking about getting rid of the stubble that grows on your cheeks and neck. We recommend doing this as a sharp beard line will make your facial hair look tidy and fresh.

The frequency of step will vary from beard to beard based on the speed your hair regrows at, so just do it whenever you feel looks necessary. We advice that you do this step first, before showering, as you can then easily wash away hairs clinging to your skin or beard.

For this stage our model uses the Phillips Series 9000 trimmer. As well as providing length options ranging from 0.4-7mm, it also has a laser function. The laser, that projects a line onto your neck or cheeks as you’re shaving, offers you precision for achieving the perfect straight edge for your beard.

STEP ONE

The second stage is to wash your facial hair with a beard shampoo. We recommend that you do this 2-3 times a week. You don’t want to over do it or it will make your beard become dry and damaged.

This step is just like washing your hair. Apply the shampoo and massage it into your beard and then rise thoroughly. Using a beard shampoo will keep your facial hair clean, nourished and soft to touch.

Our model uses Bulldog Original Beard Shampoo & Conditioner as it is affordable and contains lots of natural ingredients. When choosing a beard shampoo it’s important you go for one that uses natural ingredients as this will help you avoid itchiness and irritation to your skin.

STEP TWO

The final step in the Chinstrap Beard Care Guide is to apply a facial hair oil. As the oil acts as a moisturiser believe this is a crucial step to keeping your beard and the skin underneath healthy.

Beard oil hydrates your skin which means you don't have to worry about your skin becoming dry or flakey and causing beard dandruff. The oil also helps to tame your beard making it become more manageable, as well as improving its condition by making it smooth and shiny.

Our model uses Bulldog original Beard Oil. We recommend that you do this step daily, dispensing a few drops onto the palm of your hands and applying it evenly over your beard.
